The different eye to the legend of "Susano" which is written usually as a hero story.
日本神話におけるスサノオ伝説を、喰われてゆく娘の視点で描いた作品。

"It" may be the most well known existence in Japanese mythology, in "the Kojiki" book.
Yamata-no-orochi,
A giant serpent with eight heads,
Eyes as red as ripe hozuki (Chinese lantern plant),
Body so old that moss and trees have grown on it,
A belly stained with blood,
A monster that eats young girls.
And then...
A existence to be defeated by Susano, who was a famous male god and came down from the celestrial world, Takaamahara.
Even for the god Susano, its huge size and strength must have been a threat.
He made drink Yashiori-no-sake, a strong sake (Japanese alcohol) that had been fermented eight times, and killed Yamata-no-Orochi when it fell asleep drunk.
Even the strong god Susano was like that.
How much fear did the daughters have to feel before they were eaten by Yamate-no-Orochi?
How much fear did the villagers have to live with every day?
Focusing on the youngest daughter, Princess Kushinada, who is saved, this is a "saved story," and a "hero story".
But we must not forget about the sisters who had to die without being saved by anyone.
We must not forget about people who are forgotten existence in everywhere.
「それ」は、もしかしたら一番よく知られている存在かもしれない。
日本神話の中で、古事記の中で。
ヤマタノオロチーーー。
八つの頭をもつ巨大な大蛇、
熟れたほおずきのように赤い目、
苔や木々が生えるほど年月を経た胴体、
血でただれている腹
若い娘を喰らう化物。
そして、
天上界である高天原から降りてきたスサノオに、退治される存在。
神であるスサノオにとっても、その巨大さ強さは脅威だったのだろう。
八回も発酵させた強い酒、八鹽折(やしおり）の酒を飲ませ、酔って眠ったところを退治している。
荒ぶる神スサノオでもそうなのだ。
娘たちは、一体どれほどの恐怖の中で喰われなくてはならなかったのか。
村人たちは、一体どれほどの恐怖を味わいながら日々を過ごしていたのだろうか。
救われる末娘、クシナダ姫に焦点をあてると
これは「救われた物語」であり、「ヒーロー物語」だが、
誰からも助けられることなくこの世を去っていった姉たちのことを
私たちは忘れてはいけない。
どこにでも存在する「忘れられがちな存在」のことを
私たちは忘れてはいけない。
